DA Arts opening

On June 7th the newest annex of the Shooting Gallery opened in one of the dodgiest parts of 6th St in the windowfront that used to house the old District Attorney's office (hence the name DA Arts).  The space was generously given over to Justin Giarla, the owner of Shooting Gallery and co-owner of White Walls.  It was a pretty laid-back opening for Christopher Jernberg--no wine in plastic cups, rather a twelver of Tecate still in the box sat on the window sill for the art patrons while the residents of the adjoining residential hotel moved in and out of the building, perhaps oblivious to the art event.

The space is small but feels very open due to the large windows, and also offers some prime space perfect for large-scale pieces up above:

It's always really exciting to see new venues for art opening up in unexpected places.  Make sure you stop by sometime--DA Arts is located at 135 6th Street at Minna.
