****COVER ART CONTEST****
Plastic Antinomy is holding a juried contest to choose the next cover of our magazine.
Issue
#3 of Plastic Antinomy: San Francisco & Oakland's Visual Arts
Quarterly is a water-centric take on the "green" movement in our
culture focusing on the burgeoning "environmental" art movement
(ie-calling attention to the clash between culture and nature) here in
the Bay Area as well as on local art that features water as a prominent
theme.
We need a cover that is both representative of these themes and eye catching.
Please send images to:
plastic.antinomy@gmail.com
or via snail mail to:
Plastic Antinomy / 3150 18th St. #213, Box #213 / SF CA 94110
The image should be "Camera Ready" (ie-jpeg or tiff) , have a ¼ " bleed, at least 300 DPI and measure 8 ½" high x 9" wide.
DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF WORK IS MONDAY, JULY 7TH @ 6PM.
Please include your contact information.
From the Penguin Dictionary of Symbols:
The symbolic meanings
of water may be reduced to three main areas. It is a source of life, a
vehicle of cleansing and a centre of regeneration. These three themes
are to be found in the most ancient traditions and they provide not
only the most varied, but at the same time the most coherent series of
combinations of images.
(note: work submitted may be used in other areas of Issue #3, with full credit, if not chosen for the cover)
