> DESCRIPTION
Come over to mg gallery on October 11th to learn and play the game Sentence Drawing Sentence. The game is receptive to any skill level so people of all ages can play. The game begins by having each player take a blank sheet of paper on which he or she writes a sentence and then passes the paper to his or her right. The next player reads the sentence and draws a picture that visually depicts the words written. After that the player folds over the sentence (so that it is hidden) and passes the drawing to the right. The next player sees the picture and writes a descriptive sentence about it. The game continues by altering sentences and drawings until the sheet is filled, or the twenty minutes is up. To see examples of the game go to sentencedrawingsentence.com.
Tables and chairs will be set up in the back so you can sit with your neighbors during each twenty minute game. When the time is up volunteers will run the completed games to the gallery and install them on the walls. Our prediction is that by 9pm the gallery will have been transformed by those who participated.
Sentence Drawing Sentence is part of a series of art events happening internationally, collectively titled "Independent Drawing Gig No. 4." The medium of drawing will be reflected in shows happening in New York, Istanbul, The Hague, Maastricht, Vilnius, and Seoul. These happenings will all be documented and posted on www.indiedrawingsgig.com.
Also, We are happy to announce that Trumer Brauerei in Berkeley will be sponsoring this event.
