> DESCRIPTION
Liv Moe, Giggles, an exhibition of mixed media sculpture and photography. Mining thrift stores, garage sales, dumpsters and junk piles to come up with materials for her work, Moe re-purposes mundane objects to explore and comment on the world around us. With Giggles, Moe’s reworkings of discarded domestic items are placed on display for reconsideration. Items that most of us might ignore, wigs, handicrafts, knickknacks, linens, and abandoned furniture, are re-contextualized in the artist’s mixed media works. By using common items in an uncommon manner, Moe manipulates perception of the original objects, and forces a reexamination of things that many of us take for granted.
Liv Moe received her B.A. from the University of California, Davis and an M.A. from California State University, Sacramento. Moe has shown extensively in Northern California and has been accepted into multiple group and juried shows. In addition, Moe has won Best of Show at the California State Fair Fine Art Exhibition as well as several juror’s awards.Mostly recently she was recognized by Sacramento Magazine as one of Sacramento’s top 40 under 40.
